Here's the Central Florida weather forecast for Wednesday evening and the rest of the workweek:

  • Sunny, breezy conditions continue Thursday
  • Rain moves in for Friday and the weekend
  • Rough ocean conditions next few days

We had strong easterly winds once again for our Wednesday afternoon.

These winds off of the Atlantic Ocean are allowing moisture to return to Central Florida. This allowed for a few stray showers late Wednesday, but most areas were dry. Temperatures climbed to around 90 degrees, but it was a little cooler along the coast.

An isolated shower will be possible Thursday, and then rain chances pick up heading into the weekend.

Mostly clear skies are in the forecast through the overnight hours. It will be muggy and warm with lows around 70 degrees inland and in the mid 70s along the coast. Winds will remain breezy as we head toward daybreak.

Thursday will continue to be mostly sunny and windy with highs around 90 degrees inland and in the mid to upper 80s along the coast. There may be an isolated shower, but most will remain dry. Rain chances will start to pick up Friday and stick around through the weekend and into a majority of next week. This looks to be the onset of the wet season with a chance for afternoon storms each day. Temperatures will remain hot.

The high winds are also creating choppy waters and an elevated rip current threat. The ocean will be rough over the next few days.
