Bobby Gore, 74, was arrested Sunday and charged with first-degree murder.

According to deputies, Bobby Gore shot his 31-year-old son at a home in the 1000 block of South Daytona Avenue in Flagler Beach.

The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office and the Flagler Beach Police Department responded to a 911 call about a shooting just before 12:30 a.m.

When authorities arrived, they found Lucas Gore slumped over a table.

Investigators say Bobby Gore was armed when police found him inside the house.

He was taken to the Flagler County Inmate Facility. Bobby Gore is expected to have his first court appearance on Monday.

Police said this is the first murder in Flagler Beach since 2012.

"A big surprise to everybody in Flagler Beach, because that's not a typical thing that goes on around here," said neighbor Rick Belhumeur. "It's a tragedy all the way around certainly for their family, it's going to affect every single one of them."

Some neighbors said they didn't hear the shooting.

Cathy Frisby described her street of more than 30 years as calm and peaceful.

It's sad, it's really sad," she said. "Upsetting to know that something like this went down like this down the street because you don't hear it, you don't hear anything such as that."

Police are trying to determine what led to the shooting.
