Hot and humid conditions will continue in Central Florida this weekend.

Although we had a few very isolated showers push across parts of Brevard and Osceola County, most of us will remain rain free, mild and muggy overnight. We’ve put a 10 to 20-percent shower chance in for Sunday, with hopes of squeezing out some drops. A pattern change looks is in the cards, with chances increasing this week.

Breezy, hot and humid conditions across the peninsula Saturday, as highs topped the 80s along the coast and 90s inland. We’re looking at a mild overnight, with lows in the upper 60s to lower 70s and patchy areas of fog and settling brush fire smoke. High pressure responsible for bringing us a taste of summer will hold firm Sunday, with winds gusting up around 20 to 25 mph again. Highs climb five to eight degrees above average, topping the 80s at the coast and either side of 90 inland. Our pattern begins shifting Monday, with a system to our northwest eroding the ridge of high pressure. We’ve bumped rain chances up around 30-percent Monday, then running 40 to 60-percent Tuesday. We’ll keep chances for some much needed rain each day this first week of May.

Even though wave heights are forecast to climb up around 4 feet at times Sunday, a stronger east-southeast windswell will promote fairly poor surfing conditions. Yellow flags will more than likely dot the tops of lifeguard stands thanks to a moderate rip current threat. Sea surface temps are in the mid-70s along the Flagler and Volusia County coastline, and upper 70s Brevard.

An isolated shower cannot be completely ruled out for Wednesday as winds continue off of the Atlantic. Most will be dry with plenty of sunshine and warm temperatures. Highs inland will be in the upper 80s to around 90 degrees and mid to low 80s along the coast. Not much will change for the rest of the week as temperatures continue to warm up even more. A system is expected to move through early next week and will hopefully bring some much needed rain.
