Hundreds of people gathered in downtown Orlando on Saturday for the annual Florida Puerto Rican parade.

With Puerto Rican-flag shirts and hats, parade goers cheered as floats carrying community leaders traveled down Orange Avenue.

The parade ended with a festival at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts.

Food and music were available.

The event was held to celebrate Puerto Rican culture and achievements.

Central Florida has become a second home to thousands of Puerto Ricans in the last 10 years. As many as 1.2 million Puerto Ricans live in Florida.
