A 37-year-old man was killed in a crash Friday night after the car he was in ran a red light.

The crash occurred around 6:30 p.m. at US 92 and Tomoka Farms Road in Volusia County.

Troopers said Bethany Lavallee, 23, ran a red light at that intersection and drove into the path of a Dodge pickup.

The front of the pickup collided into the left rear of Lavallee's Ford Focus.

Frankie Pena, 37, a passenger in the Ford was killed in the crash, troopers said.

Lavallee and a second passenger, Elizabeth Catala, 36, only received minor injuries.

The two people in the Dodge pickup—John Dye, 84, and Stephen Dye, 58—only received minor injuries.

According to the report, the crash remains under investigation and charges are pending.
