Central Florida will see partly sunny skies today.  Here's a look at the forecast for the rest of the day and into the work week:

  • Rain chance today
  • Fire danger risk remains high
  • Warm conditions through the week

An area of low pressure over south Florida allowed for quite a few clouds to move north in Central Florida for our Sunday afternoon. The majority of the rain with this system has stayed south, but we’ll still see a slight chance for a few showers Sunday evening and into Monday morning. Not enough to help our dry conditions and the fire danger risk will remain high. Temperatures were slightly cooler, in the mid to low 80s. Our brief cool down continues Monday as a cold front moves through.

Mostly cloudy skies will continue overnight. There will be a chance for showers and storms early, then a few showers heading toward daybreak. Temperatures will be mild, falling only into the mid to upper 60s.

A cold front will move through Monday, but there’s not a lot of rain with this system. Only a few showers will be possible early in the day. Behind the front, winds will begin to pick up. Temperatures will be seasonable, in the mid to low 80s. By Tuesday, plenty of sunshine returns as temperatures start to warm back up. We’ll be back in the upper 80s by Wednesday and around 90 degrees by the weekend. Not much rain is expected for the next several days.

In the tropics, Arlene has weakened to a remnant low in the north Atlantic. Still no concern for Florida.

An isolated shower cannot be completely ruled out for Wednesday as winds continue off of the Atlantic. Most will be dry with plenty of sunshine and warm temperatures. Highs inland will be in the upper 80s to around 90 degrees and mid to low 80s along the coast. Not much will change for the rest of the week as temperatures continue to warm up even more. A system is expected to move through early next week and will hopefully bring some much needed rain.
