A warm weekend is in store for Central Florida. Here's a look at the forecast:

  • Rain chances returning
  • Increasing clouds

A brief period of unsettled weather is shaping up for the remainder of the weekend, offering some slight relief from the fire danger but only temporarily.

Increasing clouds through tonight will signal the approach of an area of disturbed weather from south combined with a cold front advancing in from the west. Out ahead of these features a few showers are possible during the overnight hours. Temperatures will stay mild, in the upper 60s.

Deteriorating boating conditions will be found on Sunday. Increasing southerly winds will generate a moderate chop on the Intracoastal. Scattered showers and storms will also pose a hazard to boaters. Winds will stay gusty on Monday following a cold front.

Sunday will feature considerable cloudiness as showers and thunderstorms develop, especially in the daytime heating driven by seabreeze collisions. Scattered showers Will stick around over night through Monday morning as the cold front arrives.

The front will push through the area very quickly, and winds will shift to the west by Monday afternoon bringing in drier conditions. Skies will clear leading to another stretch of dry weather for much of the upcoming workweek. Temperatures will not cool much behind this system, staying in the mid- to upper 80s throughout the next seven days.

An isolated shower cannot be completely ruled out for Wednesday as winds continue off of the Atlantic. Most will be dry with plenty of sunshine and warm temperatures. Highs inland will be in the upper 80s to around 90 degrees and mid to low 80s along the coast. Not much will change for the rest of the week as temperatures continue to warm up even more. A system is expected to move through early next week and will hopefully bring some much needed rain.
