Here's the Central Florida weather forecast for the workweek ahead:

  • Partly sunny skies, warm temps the next few days
  • Smoke from brush fires to cause visibility issues
  • Increase in moisture possible
  • SEE BELOW: See our 7-day forecast

Partly sunny skies and warm temperatures started our work week. Highs reached the mid to low 80s Monday afternoon. Our forecast hasn’t changed the past several days, and with high pressure in control, we’ll keep it status quo until late this week.

One thing you may notice is an increase in the moisture, as dew points climb into the 60s. This is good news for firefighters battling area brush fires. Now we need a good soaking rain, and may have it coming soon.

High pressure remains stretched from Bermuda to the Bahamas, back across the peninsula and into the Gulf of Mexico. This is keeping us in the same onshore flow we’ve been dealing with lately, and has produced a few isolated very light showers or sprinkles along the coast.

Areas of brush fire smoke will again create visibility issues each morning this week, with road closures anticipated. Mainly rain free conditions are also expected, with a low end chance for a shower or two Thursday.

Our next chance for much needed rain enters the weather picture by Sunday and Monday, with a slight shift in our pattern. As far as high temperatures are concerned, we’ll look for another day in the lower 80s along the coast and mid-80s inland, warming close to 90 by the end of the week.

Surfers were catching some pretty waves on this Monday, but conditions won’t be quite as good for Tuesday. A leftover windswell and swell mix will create a poor to occasionally fair surfing forecast, with wave heights generally around two to three feet. Sea surface temps are in the mid-70s up and down the east coast. Our UV index will be very high, with under 20 minutes to a sunburn.
