If you drive Kirkman Road at Interstate 4, you'll see a traffic shift starting Thursday morning.

Starting Wednesday night into overnight Thursday, southbound traffic on Kirkman Road will be connected to the I-4 westbound off-ramp.

The temporary shift will last about a year, and Kirkman Road will straighten out, becoming a strictly north-south road at that interchange.

I-4 traffic will exit on the right.

Transportation leaders said the changes will make it easier for tourists looking to exit the interstate.

The westbound I-4 exit ramp to southbound Kirkman Road will also be closed every night through March 21.

Drivers are urged to take Sand Lake Road instead.
