Fast food giant McDonald’s will start making its Quarter Pounder burgers with fresh beef, the company announced Thursday.

The fresh beef Quarter Pounders will be cooked when ordered in most McDonald’s restaurants by mid-2018.
The move is part of the company’s plans to attract more diners and remove artificial preservatives from its food.
“Over the past two years, we’ve made a series of bold, tangible changes for our customers,” said McDonald’s president and chief executive officer Steve Easterbrook. “Serving All-Day Breakfast, moving to cage-free eggs and testing delivery are all proof of our commitment to building a better McDonald’s.”
Quarter Pounders with fresh beef have been tested in 400 restaurants in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
