After some spotty hail on Wednesday, here's what's ahead for Central Florida on Thursday and the rest of the work week:

  • Clouds will start to increase during overnight hours
  • Cloudy skies and a decent chance for showers Thursday
  • Highs will only reach the low to mid 70s during day

Temperatures climbed well above average Wednesday afternoon for this time of year.

Highs were in the mid to upper 80s with even a few spots reaching 90 degrees. We did have a few sea breeze storms fire up late in the day, but not everyone saw rain. As a front moves south overnight, clouds will move in as rain chances increase.

This front will help to knock high temperatures back slightly for the end of our work week.

Clouds will start to increase through the overnight hours as a front moves south toward Central Florida. There is a chance for a few showers as we head toward daybreak, but not too widespread. Temperatures will be mild, falling only into the mid 60s.

The front will continue to drop south throughout our Thursday. Expect mostly cloudy skies and a decent chance for showers. A thunderstorm cannot be completely ruled out, but the chances are not high. Winds will be strong out of the northwest, which will allow for a slightly cooler day. Highs will only reach the low to mid 70s.

Rain moves out on Friday, but strong winds and seasonable temperatures will stick around one more day before warming back up this weekend.

Beach and boating conditions will be poor for the next several days with high winds creating a decent chop and an elevated rip current threat.
