An investigation is underway after a man was shot in the chest Wednesday afternoon in Leesburg, police said.

The incident happened at about 4:45 p.m. in an apartment at 2647 Shirleys Way.

Maj. Steve Rockefeller, of the Leesburg Police Department, said one man shot another man in the chest. The victim had a life-threatening injury and was airlifted to a hospital.

The other man is currently being questioned. The two know each other and might be roommates, Rockefeller said.

No other information was immediately available.
