A 17-year-old boy who was shot dead at a popular tourist destination Tuesday night has been identified, according to the Orlando Police Department.

The teen, Terron McCarty was found in the parking lot. The shooting happened outside LUX Ultra Lounge on International Drive, not too far from Universal Boulevard. 

"Homicide detectives say this all started as a fight inside the club, and the shooting happened outside in the parking lot," the Orlando Police Department stated in a news release.

Someone called 911 after they heard shots before midnight coming from a club in the back of a shopping plaza, police stated. 

There was confusion as to whether the club was closed down, but according to police, it is open and was open Tuesday night for an event.

The investigation was focused around the corner from the club, where crime scene investigators found several shell casings.

Police officers have cleared the scene, and the crime scene tape has been removed.

Someone who works at a store in the shopping complex where the teen was killed said that at night, the plaza gets rowdy, and he has witnessed some fights.

Police are still looking for the shooter but have not released any suspect information.
