SunRail has transformed one of its coach cars into a moving art gallery.

  • Coach car 3005 features work by local artist
  • Art is displayed in the windows
  • Part of 'Art Is Moving' project

Starting Thursday afternoon, coach car 3005 will feature work by local artists.

It’s part of “Art Is Moving,” a privately funded initiative through a partnership of leading arts groups.

Artists from every county served by SunRail — Orange, Seminole, Volusia and Osceola counties — will be featured.

The artwork will be displayed in the train’s windows. The material used still allows people to see inside and outside of the windows — for safety.

Nicki Drumb, one of the artists, says she was inspired by rail cars in Europe and wanted to help drive more people to SunRail.

“Art Is Moving” coincides with the Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival. SunRail will offer special Saturday service for the event.
