Additional charges have been filed against the man accused of molesting children in Volusia County, the Sheriff’s Office said Thursday.

Michael McCabe now faces two new counts of lewd and lascivious molestation, bringing the total to five.

Investigators sought an arrest warrant for McCabe on the new charges after new allegations.

On March 3, a 10-year-old girl came forward to the Florida Department of Children and Families and the Port Orange Police Department about an incident that took place in 2015. The child told investigators that McCabe touched her inappropriately over her clothes on at least two occasions while playing a game called, “Stranger Danger.”

During the game, the girl said, McCabe would portray the stranger and the children would have to try and protect themselves. The girl said McCabe also touched her breasts over her clothes until she kicked him.

Her 11-year-old brother told investigators that McCabe touched his private area over his clothing. He also said McCabe threated to hurt a family member if he told anyone.

The children’s mother told Volusia County deputies that she met McCabe when he was volunteering at Holly Hill School. He moved in with the family on the condition he would babysit the children and help around the house.

McCabe was arrested March 4 on three counts of lewd or lascivious molestation and one count of sexual battery of a victim under the age of 12.

Also known as “Uncle Mikey,” McCabe is accused of molesting several young girls.

Sheriff Mike Chitwood vowed to arrest McCabe when the case first came to light, and had another message Thursday:

Volusia County investigators believe there may be other victims.
