Forestry officials are conducting burnout operations for a brush fire at the Orange-Brevard county line that''s grown to 7,300 acres.

Crews from Orange County Fire Rescue and the Florida Forest Service are battling the brush fire, which spans an area near East Colonial Drive and the St. Johns River. The fire is 80 percent contained.

The Florida Forest Service is urging drivers to monitor updates from Florida Highway Patrol for local road conditions on State Roads 46 and 50 at the county line and on I-95.

The fire, which the forest service has named the "North Cane" fire, is in the Seminole Ranch Wildlife Management area, north of East Colonial Drive.

Large smoke plumes could be seen in the direction of east Orange County from as far away as downtown Orlando.

Florida Forest Service sais the cause of the fire is under investigation. There were no prescribed burns in the area at the time.
