The man found shot dead in a car on Orange Blossom Trail and Colonial Drive early Friday morning has been identified, according to Orlando Police Department.

  • Turner's uncle says nephew had no known enemies

The Orlando Police Department said Travis Theophilus Turner, 28, was found dead in his car at about 3 a.m. at the intersection of Orange Blossom Trail and Colonial Drive.

The roads were closed for more than five hours as investigators were looking into the death of Turner, a father of one.

Before 8 a.m., the medical examiner left with Turner's body, and later, a tow truck operator removed the man's car, allowing authorities to reopen the roads.

Earlier this morning, family members were at the crime scene trying to figure out what happened.

"I'm in disbelief right now," Danielle Turner said. "My husband couldn't be here, so he just said, 'Baby, just go and show support for me.' It is hurting me so bad," she said.

Turner's uncle, Lorenzo Turner, said his nephew was in his late 20s and had a daughter. The younger Turner was from Apopka and, as far as Lorenzo Turner knows, did not have any known enemies.

"People kill you for anything these days, you know. ... I won't say nothing to nobody, even when you're driving. You never know what's going to happen," he said.

Police are interviewing witnesses and asking anyone with information on the shooting to come forward.
