The Sumter County Sheriff's Office is searching for a man accused of shooting and killing another man after an argument over a card game early Monday morning.

  • Deputies looking for 26-year-old William Seward

Deputies received a call at about 12:50 a.m. in regard to shots fired at 10525 County Road 727 in Webster.

Deputies arrived at the scene and found Tarence Jackson, 34, with multiple gunshot wounds.

Jackson was pronounced dead at the scene.

At about 1:20 p.m. Monday, the Sheriff's Office said a murder warrant had been issued for 26-year-old William Fitzgerald Seward II, of Webster.

According to the investigation, Jackson and Seward were at a Super Bowl party together earlier in the night. After the game, the men played cards.

Deputies believe Seward, who goes by "Swill-Will," shot and killed Jackson following an argument during the card game. Seward fled in an unknown direction, deputies said.

Seward faces charges of second-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
