The Eatonville council election ended with a political shakeup after a general election on Saturday.

Eatonville Council — Seat 4

Incumbent Angela Thomas fought two challengers for her seat 4, candidates Michael Johnson and Tarus Mack, but in the end she lost her seat.

Mack beat out both Thomas and Johnson. He served on the Advisory Board that was designed to revise the Town Charter and he stated, through his Facebook page, that he wants to "continue paving the way for a brighter and productive future for our community."

Thomas had a tough fight with Johnson, a former vice mayor of Eatonville who resigned that post to become the town's Redevelopment Director.

In April of 2016, Thomas, a vice mayor, was named acting mayor after then-Mayor Anthony Grant was suspended on voter fraud charges.

Eatonville Council — Seat 5

For the seat 5 race, Marilyn Davis-Sconions defeated challengers Barbara King-Loyd and Dwayne Rackard. She won the seat back in December after defeating King-Loyd in a special election and won it again in the general election on Saturday.

The two seats hold a three-year term each.
