Brevard County Emergency Management has issued a precautionary boil water notice for residents living in two areas of Brevard County: parts of Barefoot Bay and Mims.
On Saturday, emergency management officials blamed a water main break for the Barefoot Bay notice.
Residents only living in these areas of Barefoot Bay are affected:
- Osprey Drive
- Eagle Drive
- Hawk Drive
- Raven Drive
- Plover Drive
- Falcon Drive
- 400-640 Barefoot Boulevard
- 7721 Snug Harbor Lakes Place
Another precautionary boil water notice was issued for Mims as well.

The county did not say why a notice was issued for Mims, but it did offer advice that can be used for those living in the two areas.
"As a precaution, we advise that all water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, or washing dishes be boiled. A rolling boil of one minute is sufficient. As an alternative, bottled water may be used," officials said.
The precautionary boil water notice will be lifted after the main break has repaired and the water has been tested, officials said.
