Two men broke into a home along the 6100 block of Perrine Drive, deputies said, where they held a gun to a woman's head.

The woman's son, who happened to be at the home, grabbed a gun and shot the two men.

"It was a home invasion. One of them held a gun to her head and made demands," said Jane Watrel, of the Orange County Sheriff's Office. "I don't know what those demands are, but her son happened to be in the residence, ran and got a gun and fired in self-defense."

One suspect, 24-year-old Rasheen Hall Briggs, died in the front yard.

The other suspect turned up at Florida Hospital South with a life-threatening gunshot wound. He was then was taken in Orlando Regional Medical Center in critical condition.

The son has been identified as Geno Alexander Davis, 24.

At this time, the Sheriff's Office is considering the shooting self-defense.

On March 13, Kervens Hyacinthe, 18, was arrested and charged with armed burglary, attempted robbery and second degree felony murder in connection to the case.
