We’ll be back up there again tomorrow, then expect a brief dip in temperatures Wednesday and Thursday thanks to widespread rain and rumbles.

This is looking more like a beneficial rain event for many of us.

A sun-filled sky helped send highs well above average, reaching the upper 70s and lower 80s. As temperatures cool toward the dew point tonight, patchy areas of dense fog are again expected to develop and linger into the early morning Tuesday.

High pressure stretching down the eastern seaboard into Florida will give us another warm afternoon, with a mix of clouds and sun. Highs will climb into the upper 70s and lower 80s.

By Wednesday, a system digging south across the Gulf of Mexico will head toward southern Florida and help increase our rain chances to around 50 to 70 percent. Clouds and rain will hold temperatures back in the mid-70s. We'll keep rain chances at 40 to 50 percent Thursday morning; otherwise, it will be mostly cloudy and upper 70s Thursday afternoon.

Wave heights will stick around 1 to 2 feet tomorrow with a building wind swell. Unfortunately, the surfing forecast still won’t be all that good with poor conditions expected. Good news for swimmers: The rip current threat will remain low. Sea surface temperatures in the upper 60s to lower 70s haven’t varied lately along the east coast. Grab sunscreen because our ultraviolet index remains high.
