The large marsh fire just west of the city of Palm Bay has grown to about 4,000 acres, according to Palm Bay Fire Rescue.

The active wildfire, being referred to as the Three Forks Marsh fire, is on state land under St. Johns Water Management District jurisdiction.

On Thursday night, the fire advanced to West Malabar Road, forcing the closure of the Three Forks Marsh Conservation Area and a boat ramp. The park is closed due to heavy equipment in the area.

Brevard County and Palm Bay Fire Rescue have been monitoring the active fire, which is not currently threatening any structures.
