Hector Garcia’s parents got married on Valentine's Day and he wanted to keep the tradition in the family.

“She's very special to me. She’s got my heart,” he said about his bride, Yahirka Garcia.

“I am happy, overwhelmed… Happy we could be united as a family to be one,” Yahirka said.

The couples took part in the annual event hosted by the Osceola County Clerk of Court.

Clerk Armando Ramirez officiated the ceremonies alongside his wife of 47 years, Milly. “Love is love. That is the most important virtue in the entire universe,” Ramirez said.

A reception with wedding cake was provided following the ceremonies, a sweet reminder for these newlyweds of what’s to come.

“Never before would I have thought that I was going to do it like this,” Hector added. “To be with my family — finally we’re together, and it’s amazing, because now I know that by God and by everybody, we’re doing everything complete, and we’re doing things the way we want to.”

Another couple who got married during the event are Kristen and Luis Lebron.

“Now as a married couple, we are one entity. We will do everything together,” Luis Lebron said.

Fees were waived for participating couples, and ceremonies were performed in both English and Spanish.
