The crash happened just before 2 p.m. Tuesday at East Central Boulevard and Circle Drive in Cape Canaveral.

Troopers said Ronald Lutrario, 33, of Cocoa Beach was driving a 2017 Honda motorcycle on East Central Boulevard "above the posted speed limit," while a Dodge Charger patrol car driven by Deputy Carmine Siniscal, 67, was driving in the opposite direction.

Siniscal's Charger turned into the path of the motorcycle, which struck the patrol car, the Florida Highway Patrol stated.

Lutrario died at Cape Canaveral Hospital and Siniscal was not injured, troopers said.
