An armed man robbed a Maitland gas station Sunday morning, police said.

The incident happened at the Shell gas station located at 500 South Orlando Avenue.
The man pointed a gun at a worker who was counting money in the vault area of the gas station, according to police.
When the worker tried to run, the man fired a shot, shattering the glass in the front door.
The man fled the scene with an undetermined amount of money, police said. He reportedly left in a red Nissan that possibly had South Carolina tags.
The worker was not injured in the robbery.
Police are working to obtain surveillance video to gather more information.
