Students at Holy Trinity in Melbourne have been chosen by the National Scholastic Press Association as one of 55 finalists in the country for the Pacemaker competition.

  • Holy Trinity high school a finalist in the national Pacemaker competition
  • Their 2017 yearbook was one of two recognized in Florida
  • Winners will be announced in April 2018

Their 2017 yearbook was only one of two recognized in the state of Florida, and the only one in Central Florida--that's out of 525 yearbooks nationwide.

The students and their instructor couldn't be prouder of their accomplishment and the skills they've learned through the process.

"You definitely learn commitment. The amount of time that it takes. And I've also learned people skills. Not just asking people questions, but having a conversation with them. And listening to what they have to say," Sydney Levy with the yearbook staff said.

"They learn design skills, they have to create these layouts from scratch, interviewing skills, interpersonal skills, business skills, selling ads so that we are able to print the yearbook," Sarah Tricano, the yearbook staff adviser, said.

Holy Trinity has earned this honor several times. Pacemaker winners will be announced at a convention in San Francisco next April.
