  • 44-year-old driver cited for careless driving
  • Children sustained minor injuries

The crash happened at about 2 a.m. at a home on Lunar Lake Circle in Cocoa.

“We heard a loud crash, my husband said that someone crashed into the house then he realized the car actually hit our boy’s room," Natalie McCarthy said.

McCarthy said three of her children were sleeping in the room where it happened, each of them sustaining minor injuries.

“One of the boys ended up with a cut on the side of his face, and my youngest ended up with bruising on his ribs,” McCarthy said.

The driver, identified as 44-year-old John Woodberry, lost control and crashed into the home, FHP said.

Troopers cited Woodberry for careless driving.

McCarthy and her family are upset and shaken up, but she said she’s glad her children weren’t more seriously injured.

“It’s things, possessions that were destroyed and we can always replace them but we can’t replace our kids, no way shape or form,” she said. “So we are just very grateful to God.”

McCarthy said her kids were taken to the hospital after the crash, but were released a few hours later.
