Two local philanthropic couples--Mike and Rashmi Shah, and Tom and Susie Wasdin--donated $500,000 to the Historic Cocoa Village Playhouse.

The money will be used to renovate the historic Rembert Building, which was recently bought and is right next to the playhouse.

The community theater and performing arts spot features Broadway musicals and around 55,000 people watch plays and performances each year.
