Sanford Police investigated a fatal shooting in Thursday night, the fifth shooting within the city limits in the past week.

According to police officials, Toby Martin, 28, was shot several times in the backyard of a home near the intersection of Willow Avenue and East 7th St. Martin died at the scene.
Police are asking anyone with information to help them solve this murder. They said they know Martin was surrounded by people when he was shot several times, but no one stayed to talk to investigators about the murder.
