An off-duty Orlando police officer was involved in a fiery crash at a toll plaza Saturday morning, according to authorities.

The crash happened just after 6 a.m. at a toll plaza on State Road 408, near Andes Avenue.

The off-duty officer crashed their personal pickup truck into the toll plaza.

Pay lanes were shut down for more than six hours, according to authorities. Traffic was also diverted to the E-Pass lanes. Tolls were waived while officials cleared the scene.

All lanes have since reopened.  

The officer was “relieved of duty,” OPD said. An internal investigation is being conducted.

Orlando Police have not released the name of the officer involved in the crash.
