Melbourne Police are searching Crane Creek in downtown Melbourne for a man who reportedly was struck by a train.

Officials said the incident occurred on Melbourne Avenue at Crane Creek. Officers said the victim, an adult male, was struck by the train while on the trestle bridge crossing over the creek and fell into the water.

The man was pulled from the water, but later died from his injuries.

No other information has been released.
