Dozens of employees at Health First's Holmes Regional Medical Center surrounded a card signing station in the hospital cafeteria on Tuesday.

  • Hospital staff sign holiday cards for troops overseas
  • 4,000 U.S. troops will be stationed overseas during the holidays

Each wrote a special message or thought for 4,000 U.S. troops stationed around the world during the holidays.

"It has to be a lonely time to be away from your family during the holidays, and this is a way we that we feel that we can just add a little extra touch and say we appreciate you, we’re thinking about you and sending you our best wishes," said Paula Just of Health First.

Health First is giving employees at all four of its Brevard-based hospitals a chance to send a card.
