The bodies of two men were recovered from the St. Johns River after an airboat accident in Cocoa late Sunday afternoon, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

The incident happened at about 5 p.m. near the Lone Cabbage Fish Camp on State Road 520.

Four people were in the airboat when it capsized, FWC said. Two people were able to swim to shore. However, two men, later identified as Motilail Persaud, 71, and Richard Rocco, 84, drowned, according to a report by the FWC Division of Law Enforcement. Their bodies were recovered at about 8:30 p.m.

Witnesses said the boat was going really fast before it capsized.   

Divers with the Brevard County Sheriff's Office assisted FWC in the search.

FWC said an investigation needs to be conducted to determine the cause of the accident.
