"Color guard attention, audience please rise," said Lucy Lampkin, Scout member.

About 25 girls stand up and salute the American flag. The organization is a faith-based scouting group with the intent of supporting the family, community and country.

Which is why they are very excited about Orlando’s annual Veterans Day parade on Saturday.

"You girls can hand some of these out," said Lisa Lampkin, a mother of one of the scouts. "And Brooke, you want to bring some beads over?"

The girls all get together before the parade to decorate the Jeep they will ride and walk beside during the parade.

The girls all agree it is one of their favorite days of the year, because many of them have family who are veterans.

"I like to think that I am a very lucky child," said Lucy.

However, more than just hanging ribbons and stars, the girls take part in honoring veterans each year.

"Well, one of the things we do is the Wreaths Across America Project, and we learn about honoring our veterans. We put wreaths on their graves," said Veronica Amadeo, a Scout member.

Each girl knows the importance of those who serve and have served.

"Because without them we might not have been a free nation, so we want to honor them and thank them for what they did for us," said Lucy.

"So the least we can do is at least honor them and respect them," said Veronica.

At the end of decorating and preparing, the girls always say a prayer.

"Thank you for all the veterans who have fought for our freedom," said one girls as they all hold hands in a circle. "And hopefully the Veterans Day parade will be very good."
