Volusia County residents who want to sign up for Operation Blue Roof have until Monday, Oct. 09, 2017.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and FEMA are offering blue plastic sheeting to temporarily cover roof damage from Hurricane Irma until permanent repairs can be made, stated Ernest Lentz, of the public affairs office of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, in a press release. 

A sign up location called Right of Entry can be found in the DeLand YMCA center at 761 E International Speedway Blvd., which closes at 6 p.m. on Monday. 

The corps has installed 2,511 blue plastic sheetings on roofs in the Sunshine State as of Friday, as more than 10,000 Floridians signed up for Operation Blue Roof, stated Lentz.
