An Orange County mother is out of jail Monday morning after being accused of leaving her 3-year-old child inside a hot car on Sunday.

The child is OK, but it happened outside of the Orange County Jail's visitation center. Rachael Etienne, 21, was arrested at the Orange County Jail Visitors Center for leaving her child in the car while she visited someone at the Jail.

Deputies say Etienne left the child for at least 20 minutes in the vehicle with the engine of the car off and the windows slightly opened, as it was 91 degrees outside.

Corrections officers were doing their rounds in the parking lot when the child was discovered and they were able to get the child out of the car.

Officers say the child was sweating profusely as the heat index was 110. Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) took custody of the child.

She bonded out of jail late Sunday night and will likely have to go to a DCF hearing to find out if she will get her child back.

Central Florida has seen this scenario all too often recently. Back in August, 3-year-old Miles Hill died after being left in a hot daycare van.

Then in September, another child was left in a car in a Disney parking lot by a woman who worked in a Disney hotel.
