City leaders in Orlando broke ground on a special affordable housing project.

  • Orlando CRA broke ground on 10 homes in Parramore
  • Affordable home project to help residents

The Community Redevelopment Agency broke ground on a lot in Parramore where 10 brand new affordable homes will be built.

Residents say this will be essential to help Parramore outlast the expansion of downtown Orlando.

"Back then this was all that we had, and now people feel like we are being ran out by all the new venues and stuff. That's why I think it's important to bring back as many residents who want to come back," said Parramore resident Angel Hill.

We were told these first three homes will be completed next spring.

Right now the prices for the homes have not been determined, but the Community Redevelopment Agency said their goal is not to make a profit, but to help bring more affordable housing to Parramore. They plan on providing assistance to those who qualify.
