The babies in the Winnie Palmer Neonatal Intensive Care Unit are in for a special Halloween treat.

Orlando-area 12-year-old Rachel Maretsky made 110 superhero capes for the babies in the Winnie Palmer NICU to help get them in the Halloween spirit.

Neonatologist Dr. Gregor Alexander gave Maretsky a tour of the NICU and helped her deliver the homemade capes to the babies herself.

More than 1,600 babies are admitted into Winnie Palmer Hospital's Alexander Center for Neonatology every year. Close to 40,000 have been successfully treated in the unit since its doors opened in 1975, according to the hospital's website.
