Two people are dead in a crash involving several motorcycles in Volusia County.

The crash happened on Tomoka Farms Road near International Speedway Boulevard, not far from I-95.

Two people were confirmed dead, according to Florida Highway Patrol. A third victim was rushed to Halifax Hospital. 

The crash occurred around 3:30 p.m. Friday. 

Troopers said Anthony Petro, 52, was traveling northbound on Tomoka Farms Road and, for an unknown reason, traveled into the southbound lanes and struck another motorcycle head-on. Petro and the other motorcyclist, Ronald Ackley, 61, died from their injuries sustained in the crash. 

A third motorcycle traveling southbound behind Ackley was also involved in the crash. The third motorcyclist, Susan Cox, 54, was transported to Halifax Medical is serious condition. 

According to the report, neither of the victims were wearing helmets. 

Thousands of bikers are making their way through Volusia County for Biketoberfest in Daytona Beach.

Traffic safety officials are urging both riders and drivers to be careful on the roads and watch out for motorcycles.
