High pressure over the eastern half of the country has a tight grip on our pattern, allowing a steady onshore flow to remain in place for another couple days.

Slightly drier air worked in today, and we will keep rain chances even lower Friday. We’re going 30-percent on the rain chance near the coast, especially along the Brevard County coast.

Interior areas and up toward Flagler County will be about 20-percent tomorrow and Saturday.

As rain chances lower, highs will climb back to seasonable levels in the mid-80s with some locations into the upper 80s. Moisture increases well ahead of a sharp cold front set to sweep in Tuesday night, so rain chances climb to around 50-percent starting Sunday.

Behind the front, highs are forecast to dip into the 70s with lows in the 50s area wide late next week.

Marine forecast

Conditions won’t improve much along the east coast, with poor swimming and surf conditions again on Friday. A strong onshore flow and east northeast windswell will create choppy conditions, even with wave heights running four to six feet.

The rip current threat is forecast to stay moderate to high. Sea surface temps are steady between 80 and 82.
