The teenager who died in a shooting in Orange County has been identified after three people, including the teen, were shot in two separate shootings on Wednesday night in Orange County, stated officials.

Teen dies in Azalea Park shooting

Teenager Anthony Jamie Santiago was found shot on Wednesday night by Tim Alexander on his front lawn on Puffin Drive.

"I heard this big bang on the door on the wall and I got up. I thought it was one of the dogs or something," Alexander recalled as he was holding back tears. "So I got up and quickly got dressed. I saw a person over there on the ground."

The Orange County Sheriff's Office confirmed shots were fired shortly before 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday along Hummingbird Lane in the Azalea Park area that left the 15-year-old Santiago dead.

"He told me he got shot and it was someone in the neighborhood. I said, 'Well hang on, I got an EMT coming,'" Alexander told Spectrum News 13.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office believes an altercation started between Santiago and a 17-year-old boy on Hummingbird Lane.

Deputies believe shots were fired in the area and when they got to the location, they found the 17-year-old boy suffering from a gunshot wound.

Santiago was also shot and he was later found on Puffin Drive, just a few blocks away from Hummingbird Lane. He was taken to Florida Hospital East, where he died from his injuries.

While Alexander went through a war, he told Spectrum News 13 that nothing can prepare you to see somebody as young as 15 years old hanging on to his life.

"He said, 'Please I do not want to die.' It's horrible. I was on the phone and holding him down, you know because that's all you could do. I'm a Vietnam Vet."

The 17 year old was also taken to the Orlando Regional Medical Center and at this time, there is no word on his condition.

Deputies say when they first arrived; the 17-year-old boy was not cooperating with them. He has not been charged with any crime, deputies stated.

Deputies told Spectrum News 13 they are not looking for any other suspects.

One deputy who left the scene told this station, "It's been one crazy night in Orange County."
