A Longwood woman has been indicted for first-degree murder in a drug overdose death, according to Seminole County authorities.

Jamie Nelson, 34, was arrested Oct. 9 and charged with selling a lethal dose of fentanyl-laced heroin to another woman.

According to investigators, Tracy Skornicka, 41, overdosed on June 15.

Nelson told police Skornicka paid her $50 to find heroin.

Hours later, Skornicka was found unconscious on the bathroom floor inside her home. She was taken to South Seminole Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

A grand jury heard testimony Tuesday from the Volusia County medical examiner and a Longwood Police Department detective before returning the indictment.

Nelson is in the Seminole County Jail without bond.
