Showers and embedded storms continue pushing across some neighborhoods this evening, thanks to a cool front moving south across the peninsula.

The front stalls to our south, keeping rain chances at 40 to 50 percent Wednesday. Much drier air works in for the end of the week.

A well-advertised cool front slipping across the area brought scattered showers and a few storms, although not as widespread as weather models were depicting yesterday. Those who have picked up rain saw some good downpours, especially parts of Volusia and Brevard County. As high pressure nudges the front into south Florida, it’ll stall close enough to keep us in a scattered rain chance Wednesday.

Breezy conditions stick around through the end of the week, with highs in the mid to upper 80s. This area of high pressure will drag in drier air, allowing us to cut rain out of the forecast Friday and Saturday. Not much going on in the tropics, with no new development expected over the next five days.

Although wave heights are set to climb up around four to six feet tomorrow, a northeast windswell and east-southeast swell mix will chop up the water enough to create poor surfing conditions. It’ll also aid in keeping the rip current threat high, so if red flags are flying on lifeguard stands, stay out of the water.
