Luis Toledo walked into the courtroom Monday to face seven different witnesses.

The first of them was Toledo’s half brother, Chris Lasanta, who said he knew Yessenia Suarez and Toledo were having marital problems, and that arguments between the two were "normal."

Prosecutors said Toledo showed up at Lasanta's home early on the morning on October 23. They asked Lasanta to describe Toledo's state of mind when he arrived.

“He was hurt, but he wasn’t like in a rage or anything, no," Lasanta said. "We were talking -- I was on heavy medication, only thing kept worrying about was going back to bed. I thought it was just an argument and he could sleep it off at my place and go back home."

Attorneys then questioned Toledo’s neighbor and classmate. Tyshawn Jackson. Jackson said he followed Toledo while he moved Yessenia’s car without knowing something was wrong. He added Toledo used cleaning products and tossed items from the car into a dumpster before leaving.

“He was kinda frantic," said Jackson. "He was driving looking around looking back and forth. He didn’t speak much -- he said he snapped.”

Prosecutors then showed pictures of the car to argue Toledo cleaned up any evidence that would have been left behind, but the bodies of Yessenia and her children have not been found. Toledo blamed Jackson for killing his stepchildren.

When asked if he had anything to do with the deaths of Yessenia or the children, or if he, in fact, spent any time with Yessenia, Jackson simply answered, "No."

Finally, one woman testified Toledo kissed her once, but went on say Toledo wouldn't have an affair and hurt his wife and children.

The trial resumes 9 a.m. Tuesday morning.
