Deputies were called out to 227 Killington Way around 4:38 a.m. in response to a report of a child not breathing and unresponsive.

The child, Moor Lysias, was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.

Homicide detectives have determined that the death is suspicious. The Lysias was transported to the Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy, which is expected to be conducted on Monday.

Deputies said two other people were living inside the home--the child's mother and a male roommate who called 911.

"It was the roommate who discovered the child was not breathing and made the call to 911," said Jane Watrel, spokeswoman with OCSO.

The mother was transported by deputies for a mental health evaluation. The roommate, who is not a relative, has not been detained and is cooperating with the investigation, officials said.

A friend of the roommate, who was shocked to hear of the child's death, said the mother had received custody of the child a week ago.
