Two killed in crash overnight after vehicle collided with tree

Two people were killed in a crash overnight after the driver lost control of the vehicle. 

The crash occurred just before 1 a.m. Saturday on County Road 209 in Sumter County. 

Troopers said the 39-year-old male driver was speeding on County Road 209, just north of County Road 202 and traveled off the roadway. The driver over-corrected to the left and lost control of the vehicle. 

Troopers said the vehicle traveled off the roadway again and collided with a tree.

Both the driver and the passenger, a 39-year-old woman, were killed in the crash.
