Ophelia continues to gradually increase in intensity, but will stay well away from the United States.

Tropical Storm Ophelia is located about 785 miles southwest of the Azores Islands, with winds sustained at 50 mph and higher gusts.
It’s currently moving to the southeast at 6 mph. It is expected to continue moving southeast, then back to the northeast by Thursday.
Even though water temps are a little cooler in this area of the Atlantic, some strengthening is possible and Ophelia may become a hurricane by Thursday.
It will NOT be a threat to the U.S. at any point in its lifecycle.
Elsewhere in the Atlantic, no tropical formation is expected in the next five days.
