Orlando International Airport officials are increasing security measures in the wake of the deadly mass shooting at Fort Lauderdale's airport Friday.

According to the airport, there are six weekday flights between Orlando International and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. They are operated by Spirit and Silver airlines.

Just after 5 p.m., several flights on the departure board from OIA to Fort Lauderdale were changed from "on time" to "cancelled."

Orlando airport spokeswoman Carolyn Fennell said there is heightened surveillance in the terminal. So far, however, there has been no impact on airport operations.

Officials there are monitoring airport activity, and they are asking all employees to be vigilant, Fennell said.

Here is part of the official statement from Orlando International Airport:

“All agencies federal, local law enforcement and airport security representatives are engaged and are monitoring airport activity closely. Security is everyone’s responsibility and airport users are reminded, “If you see something say something."

Will Stricker, an Orlando resident at the airport, said the heightened security presence is obvious.

“I come here once or twice a month, and I’ve never actually noticed this many police officers here," he said.

Orlando Sanford International Airport has not had an impact on its operations. There are no flights scheduled between the Sanford airport and Fort Lauderdale. The airport will remain vigilant as always, a spokesperson there said.
