  • Another threat was called in at Center for Jewish Life in Orange County
  • No explosives found, authorities said; both scenes were cleared by 1:30 p.m.

The first threat was called in at 10:49 a.m. at the Roth Family Jewish Community Center of Greater Orlando in Maitland. Staff and students were evacuated after a male stated there was possibly an explosive device at the center, police said.

Lt. Louis Grindle, of the Maitland Police Department, said law enforcement officers searched the facility just before 1 p.m. K-9s didn't find any explosives.

Grindle said staff and students were allowed back into the building and the scene was cleared by about 1:15 p.m.

At about the same time as the threat at the Jewish Community Center, another threat was called in at the Center for Jewish Life.

Jeff Williamson, public information officer for the Orange County Sheriff's Office, said a bomb threat was received at 11 a.m. at 7347 W. Sand Lake Road.

Deputies arrived at the scene and evacuated the building, which impacted 30-40 people.

Williamson said "nothing dangerous" was located as of 12:56 p.m. and people who were evacuated were being allowed back inside.

The Sheriff's Office cleared the scene.
